The Concerning Abandonment of the Neutrality of Our Courts
Something completely unprecedented in American history happened this week at the Supreme Court. Here’s what you need to know:
The Supreme Court is supposed to make decisions on the constitutionality of legal cases presented to them. This means that each Supreme Court Justice is responsible for ruling on cases without being swayed by public opinion.
Lately, we’ve seen a concerning rise in the abandonment of the neutrality of our courts, even the Supreme Court. The most current draft leak especially brings this to light.
Someone at the Supreme Court broke precedent and made the highly political choice to leak a document that revealed a draft of a written opinion showing the court voted to strike down Roe v. Wade.
Roe v. Wade declared in 1973 that a woman had a constitutional right to get an abortion. However, the same Court admitted that the right was somehow implicit in the Constitution. Whatever that means.
That being said, the Supreme Court is taking another look at these rulings, and according to this leak, it looks like they will be striking down Roe v. Wade. If this becomes the case, it doesn’t mean abortion is now illegal in all of America.
Instead, abortion law will be returned to the states, and an issue handled by the legislators where laws are supposed to be made in the first place. Elected officials will once again have the job to pass laws for their people, and states will not be forced to accept abortion by federal mandate.
The big concern in this situation is that the leaking of this information is truly shameful, and destroys the integrity of an all-but sacred court process. The leftist who did this put personal politics and belief over the security of our governmental process. But that’s not shocking considering their behavior over these last years, and the left’s never-ending desire to upend our nation’s founding principles, dirty the names of our Founding Fathers, distort history lessons in favor of their radical agenda and strip away protections and security measures in our system of government.
The Left has infiltrated everything, and it seems like someone has even infiltrated the Supreme Court. We conservatives simply cannot call it quits. We must stand strong against the left’s unending attempt to tear down our country. We have to win this Culture War.
