Esther Q. Schneider was appointed Executive Director of the Hoosier Lottery on January 13, 2005 by Governor Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. Originally from Las Vegas, Schneider brings more than a combined 20 years of experience in the gaming, media and public relations industries.

Schneider began her career as a media buyer for Imperial Palace Hotel/Casino and five subsidiaries. At the age of 24, she became the youngest director of advertising and public relations for a major Las Vegas Strip property, the Sands Hotel and Casino. After leaving the gaming industry, Schneider had a remarkable stint in radio broadcast sales and as a sales executive for Cox Communications. Also during this time, Schneider launched a successful public relations and media buying company, Q Media Consulting. Throughout her distinguished career in sales, Schneider received several awards and was given both local and national honors for her renowned work and entrepreneurship.

In 1999, Q Media merged DRGM Advertising and Public Relations, an industry leader in Las Vegas. There Schneider served as Director of Public Relations and Governmental Affairs until she left DRGM and Las Vegas when she married Thomas J. Schneider of Indianapolis. In 2003, Schneider was asked to serve as Executive Director of the Indiana Senate Majority Campaign Committee where she served until her appointment at the Hoosier Lottery.

Since her appointment at the Lottery, Schneider has been committed to improving the efficiency of the Lottery through reducing variable operational costs, streamlining the Lottery workforce, and eliminating functional duplicity among several departments. In addition, she continues to implement higher agency-wide ethical standards including more rigorous employment criteria.
